Professional credentials for working professionals

Pamplin is developing short-form, credit-bearing credential options — including digital badges and professional certificates — for professionals who want to build targeted business skills on their own terms.

Virginia Tech's Pamplin College of Business is developing a portfolio of non-degree credential options — digital badges and professional certificates — designed for working professionals who want to build focused business skills without committing to a full degree program. These offerings aim to deliver applied learning you can complete in months, not years.

What we're building

Pamplin's goal is to offer professionals flexible, credential-bearing options to develop in-demand business skills. Credentials are being designed with Virginia Tech's academic rigor and developed by the same faculty who teach in Pamplin's nationally ranked graduate programs.

  • Digital badges
Short, focused credentials recognizing skills in a specific business discipline. Earn a verifiable digital badge upon successful completion.
  • Professional certificates
A deeper, cohesive set of coursework in a business focus area, culminating in a professional certificate upon completion.

Specific credential offerings, including required coursework, learning outcomes, costs, and completion timelines, will be announced as programs receive approval.
